Snake Condom campaign: promoting safe sex |
||||
For a period of 6 months, Convenience Advertising (Aust.) worked with Marie Stopes International Australia and the Department of Human Services to reach Indigenous youth in select areas across Victoria to promote safe sex. Given the prevelance of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS amongst the Indigenous Australian population, raising awareness of safe sex practices and the issue of STIs and HIV/AIDS transmitted through unprotected sex was essential, particularly amongst Indigenous young people. In order to reach Indigenous young people between the ages 16-29, Convenience Advertising strategically placed public health messages promoting an Indigenous brand of condoms, called Snake Condoms, in venues frequented by this target audience. ![]() Please click here to download a fact-sheet for this campaign |
