Background
Convenience Advertising International is a social marketing company providing public health communications solutions to government and commercial clients since 1984. With offices in Melbourne (head office) and Wellington internationally and state-wide offices in Sydney and Brisbane in Australia, and a license with Focus Media in Moscow, Russia.
Convenience Advertising pioneered the use of narrowcast, which involves the dissemination of strategically planned public health communications programs via the placement of A4 messages in public bathrooms in venues such as pubs, bars, hotels, airports, sporting stadiums, sports clubs, shopping centres and medical centres. This allows for highly targeted communications programs to be segmented by way of gender skew, demographic information, area, lifestyle and locus of risk and/or engagement.
Convenience Advertising has worked with government agencies and organisations in Australia and overseas for over two decades and has consistently achieved a recall rate of 70 per cent, and on occasion reaching as high recall rate as 95 per cent. Such salient recall patterns amongst our respective target audiences emphasise the high correlation between the Convenience Advertising method and behavioural change.
In Australia, A4 messages and other collateral are distributed by way of network of approximately 100 maintenance officers who maintain and report back on any damage or graffiti to messages. These field visit reports are collated and entered into a purpose-built software program, providing distribution and tracking of all communications materials and collateral including a mechanism for measuring uptake or materials and/or replacement rates.
