| Abstract : | Of the 870 respondents, 98% recalled seeing the message and 36% were able to describe some graphic element of the message. The messages were well received with 76% of respondents commenting that they liked the look of the messages and 77% agreed the comic style design was a good idea for the target audience. At the time of the evaluation 32% of respondents felt that hte posters had some influence over their decision to reduce or stop smoking and/or felt encouraged by the messages. Since the commencement of the programme 75% of those who smoked had reported reducing or stopping at the time of the evaluation. |
